Plutosoft AI: Your Questions Answered
Following our recent launch webinar on Plutosoft AI, we’ve pulled together the key questions raised during the session into one handy Q&A. Here is what customers want to know about Plutosoft AI:
| QUESTIONS | ANSWERS |
| Can Plutosoft add a function to preview a document in a clients file rather than downloading it to view? | Document preview is not part of this AI release. However, we will shortly release Custom Comments, which will allow you to preview your SOA in Plutosoft before opening the document in Word. |
| Will the Plutosoft AI be the same for everyone with a Plutosoft subscription? Or do you get a base model that you can then train based on your individual practice preferences? | The core AI functionality is provided through Plutosoft. Practices can then create and customise their own AI templates to produce outputs that reflect their preferences. |
| What is Plutosoft’s vision for incorporating AI into the platform. | This launch is the first major milestone in our longer-term vision to embed AI throughout the advice platform. Because it works with the client, modelling and product context already held in Plutosoft, it is not a separate point solution. Planned areas include AI file notes, additional Advice Agents, Custom Comments and AI-assisted strategy modelling. |
| Can the Executive Summary agent produce flow charts? | The current release supports text and tables, but not flow charts. It is a good suggestion and we will take the feedback on board. |
| I’ve set up skills in Claude to help generate my executive summary including a picture and a cashflow summary. Will I be able to rebuild something similar inside Plutosoft? | You will be able to create and tailor templates for your Executive Summary in Plutosoft. The current release focuses on text and tables; see the comment above about graphics. |
| Will anything generated through the AI agent flow through to the SOA, or do we need to recode the SOA’s? | You will need to add the relevant AI Agent block to your report template once. (This is very easy to do, and you can do it on the Agent screen.) After that, any client-specific output generated by the Agent can flow into future SOAs produced from the template. |
| If you add the AI stuff to reports on the Advice screen, does it change the template for every client? | The change is made at the template level, so the AI block will be available in all future reports generated from that template. However, the content produced will be unique to each client. |
| For source document, can this be a compliance document upload or only file notes? | Currently, the source document can be a file note, a file-note attachment or a standalone document. We will consider supporting documents saved in the Compliance area as well. |
| Can you have AI pull notes from a review meeting and put them into a review summary? | You can reference the review meeting file note as a source document, and it will draw context from it. Also, consider adding a prompt to your template to place more emphasis on any file note containing the review meeting. |
| Will external paraplanners need to have the AI license as well as the business? | They will be able to use the same AI as is available to the practice. Any credits they use will apply to the practice they support. |
| Does it use the features displayed in the compare function or all features in the AI comparison? | Yes, the AI Investment Agent will draw from the features in your product scenario on the Portfolio screen. |
| Given James and Sarah are both moving to the same BT Panorama product, is it possible to train the AI so that in future it would add the two names to the section heading and just provide one paragraph. | Yes. The AI template can be instructed to recognise when two clients are moving to the same product. The template demonstrated was an earlier version rather than the latest version now available. |
| With the investment recommendations – does this flow through from the comparisons run via Plutosoft in “Portfolio research”? | Yes. The investment recommendations draw from comparisons completed in Plutosoft’s Portfolio Research area. |
| Do we still need to use scenario for modelling? | Yes, where scenario modelling is relevant. The recommended scenario feeds into the Executive Summary Agent so it can incorporate the modelling outcomes. Where modelling is not required, you can create a shorter template for an ROA or a simpler recommendation, such as an investment switch or rebalance. |
| Can the AI generate key reasons for underlying investments? e.g. when replacing a managed fund or direct shares with another? | Yes, provided the relevant comparison, research and client context are available. You can also attach a reference document, such as a fund profile, or add practice-approved wording to your AI template for investments you commonly recommend. |
| Do we need to duplicate templates like the SOA to prevent accidental deletion or replacement? | It is not mandatory, but we recommend cloning your existing SOA template and naming the copy something like “SOA – AI Version”. This gives you a safe environment to test AI instructions and content while preserving the original template. |
| Does the Advice Agent functionality generate images/advice maps etc? | Not in the current release. However, see the comment above about future consideration. |
| When is the AI file note functionality coming? | AI file notes are coming shortly (aiming for October 2026). |
| Can we see a copy of the output (PDF) to get a feel for what level of detail you are getting in the SOA with these agents? | There is an image you can view on the AI template screen. |
| Can it integrate investment research or summary from say Morningstar or Lonsec product reviews? | You could upload a reference document, such as a fund profile. There is no direct integration. However, note that underlying data points, such as fees and asset allocation, are already included for Morningstar. |
| How quickly are the credits used up? Any insights on how far the free credits will take us e.g. number of plans etc? | Please refer to our pricing guide. The best way is to try a few agents yourself using the free credits to get a sense. As an illustration, 2,500 credits could cover six Executive Summaries and six Investment comparisons at an average of 205 credits each, totalling 2,460 credits. Actual usage will vary depending on the task and the amount and complexity of information processed. |
| How long is the trial period? What is the cost after the trial period? | You will have free credits for 12 months. They will replenish each month for 12 months. |
| What AI model is behind this? And/or do you use different models for different purposes? | Yes. We use both Claude and OpenAI. Different models have different strengths, so we use the one most appropriate for the task being performed. We also only use what is available in Australia due to data privacy and protection. |
| Can AI credit budget be allocated per user by admin? | No. Credits are currently held in a shared practice pool and cannot be allocated as individual user budgets. Any authorised Adviser User or Support User can consume credits from the shared pool. |
| Can you limit who can utilise the new AI Agent? | No. Once AI is activated, it is available to all authorised users in the Advice Agent area. It cannot currently be enabled for selected users only. Practices wishing to run a pilot can simply communicate internally which team members should use the AI functionality during the testing phase. |
| Does the new Insurance Research Comparison only work if you have the Omnilife subscription? | It will still work without Omnilife. However, it won’t have the Omnilife features to compare and provide more insight. |
| Are the monthly 2500 credits based on calendar month, or a month from when initiated? | Complimentary credits are provided in line with the billing cycle on the 15th of each month. If you activate on, say, the 23rd of a month, it will just top you back up on the 15th of the next month. |
| Will external AI products integrate with Plutosoft at some stage? | An open API is being worked on, but how this might work with external AI tools is still to be determined. |
| How many credits are needed to generate an SOA? | Please refer to the pricing guide. An estimate, if you use all three agents for comprehensive investment, insurance and strategy, would likely be 800–900 credits. |
| Is the research tab on the Life Insurance beside the like for like part of the AI capabilities? | This screen is available whether you use AI or not. However, if you use AI, it will feed this data into the Agent to provide more context and analysis. |
| Is there a live breakdown of credits used, per user? | Yes, for the practice’s usage. You can then see which team members are using what and how many credits are consumed for an action. |
| Will you be publishing a roadmap to clients? | We will keep clients informed as the AI capability expands. We will continue to keep you updated, please ensure you are Subscribed to marketing communications. |
| How will your AI-powered file notes differ from the other similar products currently available in the market? | The main advantage is that it is done in one system with all your data and automatically saves the file note in your CRM. Otherwise, if using another standalone tool, you need to bring it into the CRM. It will also be specialised for financial planning and have Plutosoft’s security infrastructure. Plus, we believe costs are optimised by using one system rather than a stack of different tools |
| File notes – Does it record the conversation with the clients? | We will integrate with Teams and also have a phone app. The phone app will be able to push your voice recording from your phone’s voice recorder into Plutosoft. |
| With the AI file note, will you have the ability to upload a transcript or recording from mobile? E.g., phone call or meeting recorded off phone. | Yes. |
| Will we be able to set our own templates for the file noting AI? | Yes, plus we will provide a template suite. |
| Is client data stored locally on a tenancy here, or is it sent to a model offshore? | It is hosted on Australian cloud infrastructure. |
| Permissions to block AI usage by user in teams and user management, especially for external / outsourced users? | Not as yet; we will take the feedback on board. |
| When the strategy AI is released, will we be able to ask questions until we’re satisfied, then get the AI to put that into the modelling on our behalf? | We are still working through these details. |
| With the executive summary where it this information coming from? Are we able to link the file notes so it is personal to the client? | By default, it will read your strategy models, your portfolio recommendations and any life insurance recommendations, plus any reference document, e.g. a file note, you wish it to review. |
| Will the AI agent draw data from everything within the client’s folder/dashboard, or is it limited? (E.g. will it draw context from manually uploaded file notes under Compliance records). | Each Agent draws certain information. The Executive Summary draws from the fact find, strategy modelling and portfolio recommendations. The Investment Agent draws more specifically from portfolio recommendations for investments, so it is fed much more specific investment data. Likewise, the Life Insurance Agent reads Omnilife reports, quotes, needs analysis, etc. |
| Any plans for an API or MCP? | We will be looking to release an open API. It’s on our roadmap, but the details on what data will be available etc are still to be determined. |
| Will you be allowing other AI models to access the information in Plutosoft? | Yes, we have built our stack to allow us to change and upgrade models, provided they meet our criteria, particularly regarding data residency. |
| AI Presentations? | Not in the current release, but we will be looking into it. |
